The Richmond upon Thames School

Excellence Through Endeavour

The Richmond upon Thames School Trust

Richmond upon Thames College, Haymarket Media Group, Harlequins, Clarendon School, Richmond Council and Achieving for Children started working together in 2013 to create an exciting Education and Enterprise Campus on the existing College site on Egerton Road in Twickenham. The ambition was to create an outstanding Campus for education, skills and enterprise.

In June 2014, the Department for Education gave conditional approval for The Richmond upon Thames School Trust to establish a new secondary school, The Richmond upon Thames School (RTS) as part of this Campus. In October 2016, the Trust achieved full planning permission for the school's permanent accommodation on Egerton Road and in February 2017, the Funding Agreement was signed, enabling RTS to open in September 2017.

The Richmond upon Thames School (RTS) is governed by the Richmond upon Thames School Trust. The Academy Trust is a state funded charity and a company limited by guarantee, with no share capital or shareholders. It was incorporated on 17 December 2012 and is governed by its Memorandum of Association, Articles of Association and Funding Agreement with the Department for Education (copies of these documents are available from the drop down menu). The current members of the Academy Trust are Harlequins, Haymarket Media, Harrow, Richmond and Uxbridge Colleges (HRUC) and National Physical Laboratory (NPL).
