The Richmond upon Thames School Celebrates Outstanding GCSE Results
21 August 2025
A huge well done to our students in Y10 and Y11, alongside our staff and parents, on such an impressive achievement. You have secured an outstanding set of results that I know you will all be immensely proud of. As students begin their next steps, whether remaining with us at RTS Sixth-Form Plus or moving on to pastures new, they do so carrying the rewards of their commitment and hard work.
This year we also congratulate our Y10 students who took exams this summer: 30% of the cohort were entered early for GCSE Statistics, with 97% securing Grade 4 or above, 80% achieving Grade 5 or above, and an outstanding 49% attaining Grade 7 or above. We are delighted with this year’s Y11 outcomes: 80% of students achieved a Grade 4 or above in Maths, 82% in English, and 74% achieved a Grade 4 or above in both English and Maths. These results reflect the determination and hard work of our students, the dedication of our staff, and the ongoing support of our families. Every student has achieved something of which they can be proud, and together they embody the exceptional spirit of our school community: Excellence through endeavour.
Ms Kelly Dooley, Head Teacher, said:
“While many students will remain with us on campus at RTS Sixth-Form Plus, others will move on to a variety of post-16 placements, and we wish them well in their next chapter. Each student’s journey and achievement is valued. This year we are proud to share just a few examples of exceptional effort and accomplishment: Isabella H, Theo, and Elizabeth all achieved outstanding Grade 9–7 results across their subjects and Justin gained an impressive six grade 9s and an A* in Further Maths reflecting both their talent and hard work. Elliot secured a place on a prestigious rugby scholarship programme, Ted will be progressing onto an electrician training programme, Jimmy is pursuing plumbing; while others are taking up places at specialist post-16 providers including the BRIT School, as well as continuing their studies with us at RTS Sixth-Form Plus or progressing to local Sixth Forms. These individual stories, alongside the successes of all our students, remind us that achievement takes many forms and that every student leaves RTS ready for their next challenge.”
"As our 4th cohort of students receive their GCSE results I’m struck by the continued growth seen across all areas of the school. That the hard work of the students and staff has been rewarded with these excellent results reinforces the ethos and approach of RTS. On behalf of the Trustees I want to offer my congratulations and best wishes to all our students as they embark on the next stage of their journey and to our staff, a heartfelt thank you for the incredible job they have done. I am immensely proud to be associated with RTS." - Jason Hughes, Chair of Trustees.
